The 4th of September saw the unveiling of the official programme for the BFI London Film Festival. On queue with a live tweet session (which you can find here) the BFI announced some huge films that will be shown at this year’s event.
As well as some awesome premieres and screenings of some of the most seminal films 2013 has had to offer so far, there is also rumoured to be a number of star appearances at the closing night Gala. From a VFX point of view, here at Escape we’re particularly excited to see Alfonso Cuaron's beautiful 3D Space thriller Gravity, making an appearance, capping off what promises to be a real celebration of both film from British soil, and all corners of the globe.
Speaking of the art form as a whole, BFI CEO Amanda Nevill commented this week that "Film is the pinnacle of all the arts … it is more complicated, more risky, more complex" and given the astounding level of content we see produced in our field alone, we'd be hard pressed to disagree with her!.
