For those of you who have seen the latest instalment in the Harry Potter franchise, here's an interview with the sequence lead of the animated section explaining the Deathly Hallows. You can check out the full interview here.
It was a nice departure from the main body of the movie and very successful. The shadow puppet style and beautiful, simple animation was a real treat. Framestore did a great job and they really showed their ability to do much more than VFX. It's just a shame the narrative in the rest of the movie was so disjointed and not a patch on the Stephen Fry narrated audiobook. But maybe that's down to the fact that your own imagination is always much better than anything you see on screen, or it might be that the pace of a book being read to you is far more engaging than a whole bunch of over cooked VFX shots being rushed through on screen. What does everyone else think of the movie, I'd love to hear your opinion.
