Every June I look forward to heading off to Annecy, not for the sight seeing (although it is a very beautiful place) but for the Film Festival of course. Sadly however, I didn’t attend this year.

For those who don’t know, the Animation Film Festival is a long tradition in Annecy, this being its 51^st year! If you study animation in Europe you will most certainly know about the event, and some of you are probably preparing to enter a short for next year.

There is a lovely vibe at Annecy, warm, friendly and a feeling of security.  If you love animation you really must try to attend at some stage, it doesn't have to cost a fortune - there are even camping sites nearby so you don’t have to run the expense of staying in a hotel!

This year looked as good as ever, so congratulations to all who entered - there were many! Take a look at the winners here.
