Every June I look forward to heading off to Annecy, not for the sight seeing (although it is a very beautiful place) but for the Film Festival of course. Sadly however, I didn’t attend this year.
For those who don’t know, the Animation Film Festival is a long tradition in Annecy, this being its 51st year! If you study animation in Europe you will most certainly know about the event, and some of you are probably preparing to enter a short for next year.
There is a lovely vibe at Annecy, warm, friendly and a feeling of security. If you love animation you really must try to attend at some stage, it doesn't have to cost a fortune - there are even camping sites nearby so you don’t have to run the expense of staying in a hotel!
This year looked as good as ever, so congratulations to all who entered - there were many! Take a look at the winners here.
