We recommend the first stage you take in joining us is to talk to one of our admissions team, on a 1-1 basis they can help you choose the right course and answer any questions you might have.

During a chat or 1-2-1 our admissions team will cover:
- Which course is right for you
- Funding options.
- Visa requirements (if you are an overseas student wishing to study at our London studios).
- Any qualifications required for your course.
- English language assessment (IELTS or equivalent)) if English is not your first language.
- Any special requirements you may have.
- Your portfolio (should you have one).
Full course breakdowns of all our full-time, part-time and on-line courses are available on the relevant course page. It’s always a good idea to look carefully at all the courses you are interested in to ensure they cover the areas you wish to learn about. It’s worth knowing that we update our courses regularly to ensure they’re as current as possible in such a fast moving industry. But, if there’s a module or aspect of the software you think is missing, please check with our admissions team, it may be due to be added in time for the next course to start!

We offer everything from beginner’s introductions to advanced professional master classes, so you’re sure to find a course to suit you. Don’t forget to select the study option that’s best for you too, as we offer both our 3D and Compositing training in full-time, part-time and online formats, the choice is yours!
You can also try taster courses for both our classroom and on-line learning environments beforehand to make sure you find the right option for your needs.
For both UK and International students, the best thing to do is talk to one of our admissions team, they can guide you through the various funding options that may be available to you as the options are different for each student.

Most of our courses do not have formal entry requirements, however, we do expect you to be comfortable using a computer and you’ll find a working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop an advantage. A good understanding of spoken and written English is essential and all classroom full time and part time evening students must be 18 years and older, you can find more information on our application procedure in our FAQ.
For our Postgraduate courses we have the following entry requirements:
- An Honours degree containing a significant component in the field of visual effects; OR
- Equivalent industrial experience in the field of visual effects or a related area
- Applicants will be expected to submit a portfolio of work to be assessed and attend an interview that will be carried out by members of the teaching team.
- A recognised English language qualification such as Cambridge Advanced Certificate at grade C or above, or IELTS 6.0 with no sub test below 5.0. Further details of the English language requirements for postgraduate courses can be found here.

Please note that applications for part-time courses are only required for our Compositing and 3D programmes, you can enrol onto all other part-time courses directly through our website.
We always welcome applications from overseas students and students from all over the world play an important part in the exciting and vibrant learning environment at. Students from both within and outside and the EU are welcome but please note we can only accept applications from non-EU students for full time courses at the moment, if you wish to take one of our taster days please check with the UK Border Office first to see if you need a Visa or not, you can find the information here. If you wish to study one of our classroom courses and are coming from outside the EU you will need to apply for a Student’s Visitor Visa. We are happy to help you with your application and can supply standard letters of invitation once you are registered and your deposit has been received, though it is important to know that all visas though must be processed 3-4 months before the start of your course. For more information on this please download our FAQ or get in touch with a member of our admissions team. The Student visitor’s visa will only allow you to stay in the UK with the maximum duration of 6 months and it is strictly for studying purposes only. You will not be allowed to work with this visa and must apply for a separate work visa should you wish to work in the UK after completing your studies.
How To Apply
Stage 1 - Apply
Once you have decided which course you wish to study at Escape Studios you can contact the Admissions team who will be able to advise you on course availability and talk you through the application process. You will be sent an application pack that you will be required to complete and return via email or post. Alternatively you can download the application form here.

Stage 2 - Considering your application
Our admissions team will consider your application very carefully. If you meet the entry requirements for your course we will then invite you to the next stage of the application process which is a one to one meeting with a member of the admissions team. We do encourage applications from students with a variety of backgrounds, experiences and perspectives. We will endeavour to get back to you with a decision within 2 working days.
Stage 3 - One to One meeting with a member of the Admissions team
At this stage you will have a one to one meeting with a member of the admissions team, if you are an international student this can be conducted via skype or telephone. During the one to one meeting we will be assessing your potential to succeed on the course, it is also a chance to present any portfolio of work that may support your application. We are looking for passionate and committed students who have the desire and work ethic to succeed in the Visual Effects industry. This is also a chance for the team to answer any questions that you may have about the course, Escape Studios of the Visual Effects Industry in general.
Stage 4 - Offers
If you are successful after your one to one you will be made a formal offer of a place on the course. A registration form will then be sent to you, this needs to be completed and returned to the admissions team, at this stage you will also need to pay a deposit to secure your seat on the course. Please note that places on the course are strictly limited and your seat is only secured once you have returned your completed registration and we have received your deposit.
