To bring you up to speed on this company, let us start with a little introduction as to what they do. Union VFX is a production house that resides in the heart of London, established since 2008. From the beginning, they have faced industry trials and tribulations, but their hard work has resulted in them contributing to recent blockbuster hits including The Woman in Black, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 and 127 hours.
Their work spans further than the big screen though, as their skills and talent were acquired by Danny Boyle to assist in the creation of the current, and much anticipated, Olympic opening event, Isles of Wonder. They obviously impressed Boyle during their time with him as they are also currently working on Boyle’s upcoming film Trance.
Now that you have a bit of company background, we can comment on our current relationship with them. Apart from the obvious industry aspect, we are proud to say that some of the current employees of Union VFX, Mitch Crease, Maria Peralta Ramos, Toya Dreschler and Mervyn New to name a few, all studied the Compositing for Production and/or the Compositing Professional course at Escape Studios. Therefore, we wanted to extend our congratulations to our past students on their achievements to date and we hope they will continue to succeed with everything they do. Well done!
We also want to send a big shout out to the team at Union VFX as Isles of Wonder is screened during the opening ceremony for the London Olympics this week. Congratulations to you all, and we look forward to seeing your fine work when the opportunity arises.
